Wow. Nearly started a riot in Nat West. There was about 300 people waiting & I said - very politely "Any chance of you opening another couple of tills, luv?" In retrospect it's a pretty stupid thing to say as of COURSE they had though about it having a seemingly endless queue of tutting people waiting. Anyway, everyone used my suggestion as a green flag to lay into this poor woman who ended up having to write up complaint forms for everyone. I felt to blame.

This one military-type bloke in front of me said he had been banking with Nat west for 10 years! The old lady next to him said she had been with the bank for 30 years - which shut him up for a bit. As he engaged with another customer about how "they don't give a shit about the customer" he had suddenly been with the bank for 15 years. By the time he got to the cashier he had been with the bank for a full 20 years. Come on! The queue isn't that long!

I noticed through the cashiers window they had a white board that said:

The worst thing is, after an hour in the queue it turned out I hadn't been paid anyway! I made a point of storming out of the bank ripping up a cheque.
